JB Timber Concepts has been constructing barns using the time-honored post-and-beam method for over 35 years. Our father, Bruce Willemsen, instilled the value of preserving the heritage of the American barn and with each new project we have a passion with its roots in our early childhood. When Bruce was three years old, he vividly recalls sitting in the kitchen sink in his family’s farmhouse, watching their large gambrel barn burn to the ground. His passion for restoring authentic barn structures began with this vision in mind.

Bruce started his career in residential construction, but eventually, his deep appreciation for his agricultural heritage and the family farm drove him to turn the focus of his construction business to building and restoring barns.

Today, Jack and Brody Willemsen continue Bruce’s legacy by working directly with customers, designing dream barn homes, event barns, and livestock and storage barns. We are also focused on the tradition of hand-crafted construction techniques and hope to pass it on to the next generation of builders.

When communicating with JB Timber Concepts, you will often interact with Jack Willemsen, Bruce’s oldest son. Both Jack and Brody are hand’s-on with the day-to-day operations and have the same passion for quality work.

When you work with the JB Timber team, you can expect a personalized experience, from the beginning of the design process through the barn build, which will be done by our full team of skilled carpenters. Or, if you prefer, we can partner with a contractor of your choice.
