Barn homes in the gambrel style have a large loft with incredible versatility, offering the opportunity to design a second-story living space that suits your needs. If ample storage space for hay or equipment is needed for your storage or livestock barn, the gambrel style will meet that need.
The gambrel barn is modeled after European-style barns. The gambrel roof is self-supporting and became popular because it allowed farmers to increase the size of their barns by adding about one-third more loft space than other barn rooflines without increasing the barn’s footprint.
BASE SIZES
All building kits come with an exterior 2’x6′ stick-built shell featuring timber frame accents, a full loft, stairs, siding (available in metal or wood), a roof (available in metal or shingles), one walk door, four 3’x4′ Anderson casement windows, and a 10’x10′ overhead garage door. This 40x70 building has everything you could need! The downstairs includes a 40x40 3 stall garage, a 20x30 wood workshop, as well as 20x30 quilt/craft room. The upstairs consists of a 40x40 2 bed 2 bath living quarters with a kitchen, and every entertainers dream, 30x40 three seasons party deck.
