The round barn is our most unique barn; in fact, JB Timber Concepts is the only builder in the world constructing this style. George Washington built the first known circular barn, a 16-sided structure, in 1792. It took two years to complete the 52’ diameter barn, which had two stories and a walk-out ground floor. While our round barns today most often serve as unique homes, our forefather’s barn was used to mill wheat. A horse on the second story walked in circles, stomping the wheat out of stalks, which fell through cracks in the floor to be collected from the floor below.

Follow along as our team builds exquisite barn homes, elegant spaces for hosting weddings and events, unique commercial structures, and functional storage or livestock barns.
Friends and Family, we have not forgotten about you, we have just been busy with a couple projects we are excited to share with you!
We will start with the Clover Leaf porch; part of the Pella Historical Society. With a little bit of hard work and a great client we leveled out the roof and added new life by putting all new cedar deck boards, posts, and a little bit of paint and stain!
Following that, we traveled over to Howells Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch and insulated and lined the inside of their 110 year old barn with some beautiful pine carsiding that highlight the original timber posts! To create a more comfortable area for more registers and merchandise we installed two new windows and four new doors!
