The gambrel barn is one of the most popular rooflines because it offers the greatest interior capacity in the second story loft. Barn homes in the gambrel style have a large loft with incredible versatility, offering the opportunity to design a second-story living space that suits your needs. If ample storage space for hay or equipment is needed for your storage or livestock barn, the gambrel style will meet that need.
The gambrel barn is modeled after European-style barns. The gambrel roof is self-supporting and became popular because it allowed farmers to increase the size of their barns by adding about one-third more loft space than other barn rooflines without increasing the barn’s footprint.
BASE SIZES
All building kits come with an exterior 2’x6′ stick-built shell featuring timber frame accents, a full loft, stairs, siding (available in metal or wood), a roof (available in metal or shingles), one walk door, four 3’x4′ Anderson casement windows, and a 10’x10′ overhead garage door. Pricing varies by the size selected.

Friends and Family, we have not forgotten about you, we have just been busy with a couple projects we are excited to share with you!
We will start with the Clover Leaf porch; part of the Pella Historical Society. With a little bit of hard work and a great client we leveled out the roof and added new life by putting all new cedar deck boards, posts, and a little bit of paint and stain!
Following that, we traveled over to Howells Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch and insulated and lined the inside of their 110 year old barn with some beautiful pine carsiding that highlight the original timber posts! To create a more comfortable area for more registers and merchandise we installed two new windows and four new doors!
